Crushed Can - Still Life

Submitted: Monday, July 6, 2020

Made by: Aditi Anand

I really can't stress how important it is to have vision, persistence and patience when it comes to drawing complex objects, like crushed cans, and making it realistic.

What helped was to know the capabilities of my pencil. I created a color chart going from the lightest possible color to the darkest. Through this, I trained myself to apply different pressures on the pencil to get different shades.

An Evening At the Park

Submitted: Saturday, December 22, 2018

Made by: Aditi Anand

I love going to the park and spending my mornings and evenings there so I thought I would capture a picture from my memory onto paper (using paints - my best friends!). I think I mimicked oil paint with that shiny coat of bark reflecting the evening sunlight. I hope this brings you memories of your time at the park! Or you can even get out a piece of paper and paint your memories as well.

Made by: Aditi Anand

I made this watercolor painting following a tutorial on the net and I learned a lot from it. How to paint the background first with a wet paper and then come closer and closer (from painter's view). Though ofcourse I changed it up a bit by adding some smoke and fire which I think is quite interesting as it is opposite of the peaceful shimmering waters.

Abstract Shape Painting (Triangles)

Submitted: Sunday, September 2, 2018

Abstract art is a trend these days. It takes the least amount of time and effort but looks bedazzling if you hang it on a wall. This painting features a whole lot of triangles: different alignments and sizes fit together like a confounding puzzle. Give a shot at it and you can even use other shapes, but remember to be creative!
